Are you trying to get your kids involved in more reading this fall? It's hard to get Mini to read. She will listen to books while doing other things but reading is a chore unless it has to do with Anime. I am finding that if I find books that have to do with China or Japan she will devour it. I had the opportunity to review a Carole P. Roman book about China so I knew it would be a perfect fit for us.
If You Were Me and Lived in…China
I loved this book and so did Mini! It’s so cool to see the different cultures around the world. “If You Were Me and Lived in…China: A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World takes you into China and gives a lot of details to the country. You start out learning a bit about the country. You learn more about family life and how kids get their names. You learn about daily life like shopping, cooking, games they play. You will learn about interesting places to visit and much more. The book does a great job of teaching kids about the country in a way that kids understand and will love. There's also a pronunciation guide at the end of the book that's helps kids learn how to pronounce words. Mini was a stickler on pronunciation.
Can a Princess Be a Firefighter?
We always tell Mini that when she grows up, she can be whoever she wants to be. The two little girls in this book ask their dad questions on whether they can be a princess and be something else too. There are so many possibilities when it comes to being a princess and a firefighter. Can a Princess Be a Firefighter? Is an awesome book that every family should have on their bookshelf.
