Build a Snowman Sensory Play
Divided Tray (We found this one at Dollar Tree)
Felt scraps for scarves
Wine corks glued to straws for pipes (optional, just a fun extra touch if you wish)
For this activity you will also need play dough. For ours, we used a simple homemade mixture. Just mix 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup salt, 1 cup of warm water, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, and 2 teaspoons cream of tartar. Mix until a soft dough forms. If you wish to bypass this step, you can always opt for store bought play dough in various colors.
1. Place the dough in the center of the tray and fill in the surrounding compartments with your trimmings. If you want, you can give your child the job of sorting these trimmings into the compartments.
2. Have children chose from the trimmings and use them to build their snowman.
3. When children are done they can display their snowman or they can take him apart and build him again.
This Build a Snowman Activity Center is a great way to build motor skills in your child as well as encourage creativity and imagination. Children will love building their own little snowman from the materials provided and getting as creative as they chose!
Gather your supplies and try crafting your own Build a Snowman Sensory Play Activity Center. As you can see it is an easy and inexpensive way to build a snowman right in your own home.
