Disclosure: I was sent a PackIt Freezable in order to write I like To PackIt PackIt. Nevertheless, opinions and tips are my own.
I only have to worry about packing lunch for Hubby but packing lunch is a lot of work. We take the time to figure out what we will pack, what we’ll pack it in, and how we’ll get it packed! I wanted to share some of my best tips for packing lunches. We all know that a less stressed out mom, makes for a happier home.
#1. Pack as Healthy as Possible
It’s so tempting to just throw packaged foods in my son’s lunchbox. It does take some will power to make sure I’m packing mostly healthy items. As a rule of thumb, I try and make sure that I pack at least one fruit and one vegetable. Although I know my son won’t eat everything I pack, I at least know I’m offering healthy options to him.
#2. Pack Ahead of Time
I don’t make good lunch packing choices when I’m in a hurry. I try and pack lunches ahead of time instead of waiting until the last minute. I have a game plan in mind and I stick to it, this helps packing lunches a lot easier.
#4. Use the Right Lunch Tools
The goal of a packed lunch is to typically keep it cold, so it stays nice and fresh for when you’re about to eat it. In my family, we use something amazing known as the PackIt. This is the first cooler that actually works in the “keeping your food cold department.”
The PackIt has helped save me time and money because it actually keeps the food cold, which means I don’t have to worry about my son eating bad food! I also love the PackIt because I can use it for more than packing lunches! I can think of multiple ways I could use the PackIt, such as keeping our drinks cold as we shop or even as a cold place for my cold grocery items to go after I’m done grocery shopping.
This is how the PackIt works:
PackIt freezable bags work just like a refrigerator on the go, chilling food and drinks up to 10 hours. The secret is the cooler's freezable gel liner. Once the bag is frozen, its walls generate waves of cold air that chill your food and drinks from all sides.
Here's a video that explains how PackIt works in more detail.
