Ever been to the Chicago Shedd Aquarium?
The family and I went for the first time yesterday to the Shedd Aquarium. (I think I was more excited than the kiddies.) We arrived about 8:30 AM since they opened at 9:00 AM and when you arrive before 9:30 AM, you only have to pay $11 for parking. Parking can range from $11-$22. ( This momma isn't going to pay $22.)
What a blast but oh my, what a cluster. You had to take an elevator to every floor and you have so many people trying to all fit in with strollers. One floor only had this small exhibit and hardly any room to move. We had to take two different elevators to get to the Polar Bear exhibit. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful aquarium, but I believe they need to be a little more organized.
My favorite exhibit was the Jellyfish, but I also loved the Stingray exhibit. I think everyone else liked the Stingray exhibit best. We actually got to touch them. If you hve ever felt them, they feel like a slimy mushroom. That's the best way for me to describe them. They are amazing creatures though.
We got to watch a short( 15 minutes) 4-D clip of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and the Aquatic Show.
After the short clip and Aquatic Show we went and had lunch. By this time we had all ready seen half of the Shedd Aquarium. My son,G, is picky so we packed our lunch. Hubby and I had homemade chicken, kale, cheese, poppy seed dressing wraps, J had peanut butter & jelly with chocolate chips, and G just had a peanut butter & jelly.
After lunch, Sea Otters and Penguins were our target. These were the last ones to see. G was definitely getting super tired at this point so we called it a day and left.
We packed the kiddies into the car and were on our way out at 3:15 PM.
What's your favorite exhibit at your local aquarium to visit? If you've been, your favorite at the Shedd Aquarium?
